What a busy 6 months it has been. In February Retro Engineering celebrated 10 years of trading. So with thanks to Paul Kilvington at Kilvington Design, we re-branded with a new logo and colour scheme. A special mention to Acorn Creative for making such a great job with their vehicle graphics and also embroidered workwear.
Our season kicked off on 7th February with testing the A40 which was completed late 2021 at Donington.
We built a new BMW 1800 race car for the 2022 season, which we tested at Goodwood on 15th March and again at Donington on 22nd, thanks to North East Autobody for another superb paint job.
The cars first race was at Brands Hatch on 3rd April, ably driven by Harry Barton in the HSCC and HTC. Fantastic photograph taken by Peter Baker of Retro-Speed Magazine.
Harry then competed at Donington on 15th April in the Masters Race and at Snetterton 24th April in the HSCC, back to Donington again on 30th April for the U2TC.
26th April we tested the Austin A40 again at Croft.
We then took both the A40 and the BMW to Mallory Park on 15th May for the HRDC Jack Sears Trophy, A40 1st in Class and BMW 3rd in Class, 3rd overall against a very competitive grid. Team photo and A40 photograph again curtesy of Peter Baker Retro-Speed magazine.
4th-5th June 2022 saw horrendous conditions at the Wolds Trophy Cadwell Park, but Harry Barton drove well and won the HTC. Photographs Tom Bridger and Peter Baker Retro-Speed Magazine.
11th – 12th June 2022 saw a very successful weekend at Britain’s fastest circuit Thruxton, for the HRDC Jack Sears Trophy and U2TC. Harry Barton acheived his first podium finish 3rd overall in the U2TC on Sunday 12th. Photographs again courtesy of Peter Baker Retro-Speed Magazine.
19th June back to Donington again for the HSCC and HTC, with Harry Barton currently leading the HSCC HTC championship.
